Mission & Purpose
The Monitoring & Improving Exposure Therapy Delivery Working Group advances the quality of exposure therapy by developing, evaluating, and promoting innovative approaches to measuring treatment delivery, assessing implementation, and supporting continuous quality improvement across clinical settings. The Working Group serves as a collaborative community of expertise that develops innovative methods and practical tools to help clinicians, healthcare organizations, and researchers evaluate and continuously improve the delivery of exposure therapy.
By fostering innovation in treatment monitoring, implementation evaluation, quality improvement, and performance feedback, the Working Group develops practical tools and collaborative initiatives that support high-quality exposure therapy across diverse practice settings.
Goals

Advance innovative approaches to treatment monitoring and quality improvement
Develop and evaluate innovative approaches to measuring treatment delivery, assessing implementation, and monitoring the quality of exposure therapy across clinicians, organizations, and health systems.

Promote continuous improvement in clinical practice
Develop and study strategies that use performance measurement, implementation evaluation, and quality improvement methods to support sustained improvements in the delivery of exposure therapy.

Build shared infrastructure for monitoring and improvement
Develop practical tools, methodologies, and collaborative initiatives that advance treatment monitoring, implementation evaluation, and quality improvement throughout the exposure therapy community.
Examples of Activities
Developing and evaluating quality improvement methods such as audit and feedback systems, benchmarking approaches, implementation dashboards, and other performance feedback tools.
Conducting collaborative initiatives that examine factors associated with high-quality exposure therapy delivery and sustained implementation.
Collaborating with other ETC Working Groups to ensure that findings from quality monitoring and implementation evaluation inform educational initiatives, implementation strategies, communication efforts, and future clinical initiatives.
Advancing innovative approaches for monitoring exposure therapy delivery, including technology-enabled and scalable measurement strategies.
Developing innovative approaches to implementation evaluation, including emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and natural language processing, when appropriate.
Disseminating best practices and innovations related to treatment monitoring, implementation evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.
Developing and evaluating treatment fidelity measures, quality indicators, and implementation metrics.
