Mission & Purpose
The Education, Training & Workforce Development Working Group advances the delivery of exposure therapy by developing, evaluating, and disseminating innovative approaches to clinician education, supervision, competency development, and workforce development. The Working Group serves as a collaborative community of expertise dedicated to strengthening clinician learning through innovative approaches to education, supervision, professional development, and communities of practice that support high-quality exposure therapy across diverse practice settings.
By fostering innovation in education, supervision, professional learning, and workforce development, the Working Group develops practical resources, educational programs, and collaborative initiatives that expand access to high-quality exposure therapy while strengthening the clinical workforce.
Goals

Advance clinician education and workforce development
Develop and evaluate innovative approaches to clinician education, supervision, continuing education, and workforce development that strengthen the delivery of exposure therapy across career stages and practice settings.

Promote excellence in clinician learning and professional development
Develop innovative strategies that support therapist competency, professional growth, supervision, consultation, and lifelong learning.

Build shared educational infrastructure
Develop educational resources, training curricula, supervision models, competency frameworks, and professional learning opportunities that can be leveraged across ETC clinical initiatives and the broader exposure therapy community.
Examples of Activities
Examples of activities include:
Developing therapist training curricula, educational resources, treatment manuals, and continuing education programming.
Developing approaches to therapist competency assessment and educational feedback that support clinician growth and professional development.
Supporting cross-site therapist training, consultation, and supervision for ETC clinical initiatives, when appropriate.
Designing and evaluating innovative supervision models, consultation strategies, and communities of practice that support ongoing clinician learning.
Creating educational resources that facilitate the dissemination and implementation of exposure therapy across diverse clinical settings.
Developing collaborative initiatives that strengthen workforce development and expand access to high-quality exposure therapy.
Collaborating with other ETC Working Groups to ensure that educational initiatives are informed by advances in treatment monitoring, implementation, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
